BAS MANAGER

Suited to an experienced tax compliance professional wanting to take the next step in their career.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compliance role includes:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients ranging in complexity, size and industry type. This includes all tax types for compliance purposes and for Income Tax management up to client owner review

Manager role includes:

  • Compliance review of draft packs before being released to the client

  • Team and client support for technical queries and problem-solving

  • Support with practice internal controls and processes, keeping them up to date and ensuring they are complied with as well as ensuring the team has the resources to deliver their roles and objectives

  • Training and mentoring to all team members, but a higher level of focus on the junior staff

  • Workflow management to assist with the work being delivered in full, on time and within budget

  • Team performance management, including appraisal reviews

  • Direct support to the Client Owners for compliance, advisory and project tasks

  • Identifying opportunities to add value to client services

  • Initial support of new clients recently onboarded into the practice, ensuring all Xero and software applications are working as intended and that they have a basic understanding of compliance

  • Involvement in internal management meetings and contributing to the growth of the practice

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of work experience in a tax compliance and advisory environment

  • A professional qualification in accounting and a member of CAANZ, or plans to be

  • Excellent team player and proven leadership and management skills

  • Ability to demonstrate management flair, drive and identify business development opportunities
