Te Puke Economic Development Group (EDG) Meeting
Lance recently attended the Te Puke EDG meeting held on 22 November 2018. This is a forum to discuss and promote what is happening in and around the region, some key highlights were:
Kiwi Slice Project – The kiwifruit structures to be placed in the town is making progress with funding almost secure to get the project underway. They are currently looking for the final funding amounts to get the project over the line, if you would like to contribute please contact Mark Boyle firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rangiuru Business Park – This project is also moving in the right direction, currently communications are being held with developers and interested parties wishing to purchase or tenant the premises. One major matter that requires further consideration is roading and the connection to the highway.
Old Mitre 10 premises – This has reportedly been sold and work will soon commence to divide the premises into multiple tenancies. There has been good interest in possible tenants wanting to take up that space and from a variety of retail types.
Traffic congestion in and around Te Puke – This continues to be a problem in the town centre. There are discussions underway around possible ways to try to rectify this problem continuing to grow. If you have any ideas please pass those onto Mark Boyle directly email@example.com.
Closure of the Te Puke Highway – The closure has been scheduled for 4 weeks during January/February 2019 between Bell Road and Welcome Bay Road. Discussions have been had to stress the disruption of this closure and to ensure minimal road closure time is achieved.
